چکیده

INTRODUCTION Agarose gel has been commonly used for the cell culture of cartilage and soft tissue and also been used as phantom material for material property characterization using image techniques. The mechanical property of the agarose gel would therefore be important for such experiments and analyses. A fractional calculus approach had been proposed and applied as a method of describing the mechanical properties of viscoelastic materials. In the present study, the dynamic mechanical properties of agarose gels and its relationship with frequencies and agarose concentrations were characterized with a simple form of fractional derivative model.

An extension of stochastic differential models by using the Grunwald-Letnikov fractional derivative

Stochastic differential equations (SDEs) have been applied by engineers and economists because it can express the behavior of stochastic processes in compact expressions. In this paper, by using Grunwald-Letnikov fractional derivative, the stochastic differential model is improved. Two numerical examples are presented to show efficiency of the proposed model. A numerical optimization approach b...

Biorthogonal cubic Hermite spline multiwavelets on the interval for solving the fractional optimal control problems

In this paper, a new numerical method for solving fractional optimal control problems (FOCPs) is presented. The fractional derivative in the dynamic system is described in the Caputo sense. The method is based upon biorthogonal cubic Hermite spline multiwavelets approximations. The properties of biorthogonal multiwavelets are first given. The operational matrix of fractional Riemann-Lioville in...

Vibration of FG viscoelastic nanobeams due to a periodic heat flux via fractional derivative model

In this work, the vibrations of viscoelastic functionally graded Euler–Bernoulli nanostructure beams are investigated using the fractional-order calculus. It is assumed that the functionally graded nanobeam (FGN) is due to a periodic heat flux. FGN can be considered as nonhomogenous composite structures; with continuous structural changes along the thick- ness of the nanobeam usually, it change...

Dynamic Response Analysis of Fractionally Damped Beams Subjected to External Loads using Homotopy Analysis Method

This paper examines the solution of a damped beam equation whose damping characteristics are well-defined by the fractional derivative (FD). Homotopy Analysis Method (HAM) is applied for calculating the dynamic response (DR). Unit step and unit impulse functions are deliberated for this analysis. Acquired results are illustrated to show the movement of the beam under various sets of parameters ...

Evaluation of Ferrous-Agarose-Xylenol Gel Properties in Radiation Dosimetry

Background: Over recent decades, modern protocols of external beam radioÂ‌therapy and radiation techniques such as intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) have been developed. These methods are extremely sensitive to errors in treatment delivery, so that it is essential to apply a high resolution 3D dosimetry system that has high sensitivity and is capable of measuring and verifying the complex...
